Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Anime

Somewhat new to the world of Anime, I've been getting pretty deep into a number of series...

First It began with Vampire Hunter D, and then on to Akira, both good for their time period. I then watched all 11 hours of Neon Genesis: Evangelion. To me, this was an awakening to how powerful the format of animation can really be and what kind of emotions it can evoke. "Cartoons", as we Americans so dismissively call them, are not just for kids.
